Game 5: 11-2 Win

What a great game we had on 03/25/09.  All of the kids played well.  We had some great pitching.  We had numerous players with atleast 2 hits.   I am starting to see more aggressiveness at the plate.  I am very happy with our progress so far.  My primary goal this year is to help every player on this team become a better baseball player and to have fun while doing it.    Practice has been changed from 1:00 pm to 10:00 am for 3/28/09.  We will still practice at Cole Elementary.

Thanks,

Coach Fraser

Game 3: Our 1st Win

Congrats to the entire team for a great game. I think everyone was able to play a lot tonight. I saw some great fielding by players such as Jack Gilbertson and Ryan Toto. Noah did a great job behind the plate. We had several players hit the ball and I saw a more aggressive team at the plate today. My son Logan did a great job shutting down the other team in the last inning with great pitching. Blake pitched two good innings. As I have stated several times we need to spend more time on our pitching and in general learning to throw with proper mechanics. Please take the time to play catch and work on your son's throwing mechanics.

GREAT JOB!

Coach Anthony Fraser.

Playing Time in Games!

I want to address the issue of playing time for each player on the team. I plan to have every player rotate at several positions each game. We will have each player sit out 1 inning and then play two consecutive innings in most cases. Please understand that there are a few positions on the field that I do not feel comfortable with having players play without some practice at that position (primarily Pitcher and Catcher). If you child wants to play Pitcher or Catcher, they need to tell me and they need to be at practice at 12:30 pm on Saturdays so that I can see them Pitch or Catch. I do not want to put a player at Catcher and have them get hurt because they have no previous experience or coaching at that position. Players who want to learn to pitch or who have pitched in the past need to be at practice on Saturdays at 12:30 so that I can see them pitch off of the mound and make sure that thier pitching mechanics are sound so that they do not hurt thier arms while pitching.

Finally, please try to work with your child on his throwing technique as taught by Andy Zavorek at the throwing clinic this past Saturday.

Thanks,

Coach Anthony M. Fraser

Game 2 Recap

03/11/09

I saw some good things today from the players. We had more players hit the ball and overall the players seem to be getting more comfortable at the plate. We had some good pitching, good fielding, and good base running. We still have lots to work on but all of the players are improving.

Game 1 : Recap 2-1 Loss

March 09, 2009

I feel like our players played very well for the 1st game of the year.

Logan Fraser pitched two strong innings giving up no runs, scored our only run, and played well at Catcher.

Jack Gilbertson had a great day at the plate and also played very well in the field

Blake Welton played well at 1st base and pitched well.

Noah Greenlaw, Jonas Fulleros, Austin Cozzi all improved in the field and continue to improve at the plate

Conner Stokes had a great day at the plate and I noted some great play in the field.

Alan Zarate played well at 3rd base and was strong at the plate.

Ryan Toto continues to improve his catching skills and played well at 2nd base.

Ryan McCandless continues to improve in the field and had some great cuts at the plate.

Cameron Shurson started the game off with a cut / fat lip after a accident in pregame warmups, but decided to play and played very well

Caden Hall (our newest team member) did a great job in the field and at the plate and I think he will be an asset to this team.

GREAT JOB! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BOYS!

Coach Anthony
